The Square Studio is MOVING:
The Square Studio is moving! The new facility will be in downtown Syracuse, and should open around the first of the year. Construction has been absolutely wild, and the spot is coming along amazingly well. I plan to post a huge update with construction photos, and shots of the finished space as soon as everything comes together. I'm very excited at what the new space will have to offer and can't wait to start working there!!!
INK on Take Action Compilation:
An unreleased INK song that was recorded at The Square has been selected to be a part of Hopeless Records' annual Take Action charity compilation alongside bands like The Used, We Came As Romans, Bad Religion, Mayday Parade, Periphery, and Say Anything. This is super exciting because I've been a supporter of the Take Action compilations since Vol. 1. It is an honor to now be a part of it, and in such great company!!! Go out and pre-order yours today!!!
Saline Record Out Now:
Saline's new full length, "The Day You Came To Me," is out now!!! This was an awesome record to work on, as it took the studio and the band halfway across the country to finish. Check it out now!!!
Super Busy Summer:
So many awesome things going on. Tons of new records out, INK is on the All Stars tour, tons of other Square bands are on the road promoting their incredible new work, and HUGE NEWS is coming soon!!!
Off To Chicago:
The Square has packed a bunch of gear up and is headed to Chicago to finish the Saline record. This will be interesting...
Young Blood In The Studio:
Rochester-based band Young Bloods is in the studio, bringing a super new, super different sound, as well as a couple of big surprises. Be on the lookout.

The Square Studio is owned and operated by Steve Sopchak, whose recent credits include re-mastering a series of seminal pop-punk/emo albums by bands like The Ataris and The Juliana Theory for 10th anniversary re-releases, engineering and co-producing the new Ice Nine Kills album (alongside esteemed producers James Paul Wisner and Tom Denney Jr.), as well as continued work with punk rock's hardest working band, Such Gold, who recently signed with one of the largest independent music companies in the country, Razor And Tie Records.
Artists who have worked at The Square Studio have been featured on MTV, are regularly played on nationally broadcasted television shows, frequently appear in top spots on music sites like PureVolume and Myspace Music, and many have gone on to sign with major labels and smaller independents alike based on the recordings they've made here. Much of the material recorded at The Square has been nominated for and/or has won regional music awards, and has been released both nationally and internationally.
